ABsee Free Image Viewer is a tool you can use to view, organize and even edit images.

ABsee Free Image Viewer is first and foremost an image viewer. Its main window is split into three sections: a file explorer, a preview pane and an image view pane. You can use the file explorer to access any folder or file accessible to your computer. Select a folder to display all included images in the preview pane and the currently selected or first listed image in the imager viewer pane.

You can also use the file explorer to organize your images. ABsee Free Image Viewer supports drag and drop, and there’s a favorite option so that your most important image folders are always at the top of the list when the program starts. There’s also a filter and a search mechanism, and you can filter and search by name, image type, meta information and other file characteristics.

ABsee Free Image Viewer is also a basic image editor and supports most basic operations, such as resize, rotate and crop. It supports any image type that the Windows operating system can, and it has a small footprint on disk, runs without many resources and can process many images in a fast manner. You certainly won’t have to wait while pictures pop into view.

The biggest knock against ABsee Free Image Viewer is redundancy. Admittedly, when this program was first released, this approach was still rather novel. Nevertheless, most modern versions of Windows have built-in, consolidated tools to view, organize and edit images. Many of the Windows tools are even better than what’s offered here, and that just makes this a redundant app with an outdated user interface.

Pros

  • Imaged viewer, organizer and editor
